Biography of Jansi Lakshmi Bai :

Jansi Rani Lakshmi Bai was the queen of the Lady,Rani jansi lakshmi bai was born to a Maharashtrian family at varanasi(it is also called Kaasi), In the year 1828. Manikarnika is the real name in her chilhood and her nick name is Manu. At age of four she lost her mother. After that resposibilities fell upo her father.

jansi Lakshmibai took traning in martial arts , which included shooting, fencing, riding.
In the year 1842 she got married to maharaja Raja Gangadhar rao niwalkar. After marriage, she given name Lakshmi Bai. Jansi wedding Ceremeny was held at the Ganesh temple, located in old city of jhansi, Lakshmibai gave birth to a son in year 1851. Unfortunately, the did survive more than four months.

Gangadhar Rao fell sick and became very weak in the year 1853. Gangadhar and Jansi both decided to adopt a child to ensure that the British do not raise an issue over the adoption, Jansi Lakshmi Bai got this adoption witnessed by the local British representatives. Jansi Husband Maharaja Ganadhr Rao Died In 21st November 1853.

In thar period, Lord Dalhousie was the Governor General of British India.And jansi adopted child name is Damodar Rao. As per the Hindhu tradition, Jansi son Damodhar was legal heir.And the Briish rulers refused to accept him as legal heir. As per the doctrine of Lapse, Lord Dalhousie decided to seize he state of jansi.at that Rani jansi Lakshmi Bai Went to a British Lawer and consulted him.And Jansi Laxmi bai Went to a British lawyer and consulted him.
Laxmibai Appeal for the hearing of her case in London.But, Jansi plea was rejected. The British Authorities confiscated the state Jewels.And also ,an order was passed asking Rani Lakmibai to leave Jansi fort and move to the Rani Mahal in Jansi. Jansi was firm about protecting state of jansi.

Lakshmibai became the focal point of uprising. Rani of jhansi began to srengthen her position.By other support she form a volunteer army. The army not just consisted of the men folk, bu the women were also actively involved in this.Women also given military traning to fight a battle.in the revolt ,rani Lakshmi Bai was accompanied by her generals.

The war.Sep-Oct 1857 period Rani Lakshmibai defend jhansi from being invaded by the armies of the neighboring rajas of Orchha and Datia. In the year January 1858, the British army headed its away towards Jhansi. the war went on for two weeks. Finally ,the Brithishers succeeded in the annexation of the city.

Jansi Laksmi bai took refuge in Kalpi, where laksmi met Tatya Tope, a great warrior. Rani Jansi Lakshmibai died on 17thJune, during the battle for Gwalior. It is believed that, when Jansi was lying unconscious in the battle field, a Brahmin found Jansi Lakshmibai and brought her to an ashram, where Lakshmi died. For her immense effort, Jansi Lakshmibai is referred to as the 'Icon of the Indian Nationalist Movement'. Throughout the uprising, the aim of Rani was to secure the throne for her adopted son Damodar. Her story became a beacon for the upcoming generations of freedom fighters.
